It’s been an extremely busy month this September with a new record set for the most properties let a month since Applegate opened over three years ago! With the sunny days of last month seemingly far behind us (where did these grey skies come from all of a sudden?!) and with darker, colder night fast approaching, we are advising all our landlords to ensure that their boilers are set to frost settings and to consider having them serviced if they have not already done so.
We have noticed that our social media presence is on the up this month, with a large increase in those looking for properties ‘liking’ our Facebook page since it is updated every day with new properties on the market. Whilst we do have a very active mailing list informing those who want to know about our latest properties, we understand the importance of social media and have recently let four properties through applicants solely seeing a property go live on Facebook and arranged a viewing following this. The newly listed properties appear on Facebook before they’re even loaded onto the Rightmove website so it’s a few steps ahead for prospective tenants. We’ve also been championing ‘e-signing’ recently – all our tenants and landlords now have the option to e-sign many vital documents in order to make life easier for them. This has proved to be a great success and we have had some fantastic feedback from those using the new system. We will also still offer the traditional paper signing option to anyone who wants it as we feel it’s vital to work with each individual to suit their needs but we recognise that a significant number of tenants and landlords alike would prefer to be able do deal with signatures and paperwork in this manner.
Finally, we mentioned in a news post earlier in the month that our Managing Director Amy Wray has been confirmed as a finalist for the Young Business Woman of the Year award at the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards 2013. Forward Ladies have now issued a press release confirming this so we look forward to seeing that in the papers this week! We’re already getting excited for the awards ceremony in November and have a table booked ready to go and support Amy on the day.
